I feel that at present the School is riding on the crest of the wave and that this happy situation is due to the whole hearted co-operation and assistance given by the Staff and the Community and to the healthy, vigorous spirit that exists among the boys and girls who have pride in belonging to the Griffith High School.

WAR
By Janet Gulloni (Yr 3E1)
A MASSACRE?
Children scream and women cry in fear,
As buildings that have stood timelessly, tumble in seconds.
Around them the turmoil of war erupts,
But why, what do we receive from it?
POWER?
Leaders strive, they try in vain,
Not to end our suffering, but to gain
For themselves, as much power as they can,
Grasped in their ever-cold hearts and hands
EQUALITY?
If war stopped, so would the killing,
The pain, the sorrow, the ceaseless spilling,
Of innocent blood. Let the Earth be given a new dawn,
For aren't all God's children equal born?
