TIME CAPSULE

'OASIS' PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

It's a long time since Griffith High School had a magazine!

School magazines, like so many other important parts of the life of a school, only "happen" when someone is prepared to give up his or her time to make them happen. Ms Pocock has only been teaching at Griffith High this year. She saw the need for a magazine and she has spent many hours during 2000 to ensure that we have a magazine to document the year for us.

Of course, she could not do all the work by herself! Thank you too, to all the students who have helped - both on the production side and those who contributed and thank you to other staff members who have supported Ms Pocock.

Quite often, it's only later in life that you want to look back on your days at school. School magazines bring back the memories, the faces and the events. During 2000 we have had much to celebrate. Our magazine is a celebration - a celebration of our school.

Thank you Ms Pocock and the Magazine Committee for bringing back to life a very important part of our school culture.

TIGERS!!
By Catherine Green (Yr )

A tiger indicates rage,
It puts me in tears
To see one in a cage.
But I know if they were
Free in the wild,
Their chances of surviving
Would be mild.

If people would not be so cruel,
The king of the kingdom
Would once again rule.
I wish humans would stop
ruining their homes,
Then the great gorgeous tiger
would not be so alone.

If people like me would fight
To stop the destruction,
Then for the tiger's right
We could start the reconstruction
Of their homes - to save extinction.
